Celebration

Celebration

For some years we have been holding weekly celebrations in public buildings. Until recently we have all met together in the Blue Coat Comprehensive School hall. Then on 5th October 2008 members living the Pheasey area began a separate celebration in the Collingwood Centre. For directions to our usual venues see Contact Us.

These events are family gatherings and everyone is welcome. The usual ingredients are praise, teaching, sharing church family matters and praying for one another. The format changes from time to time and it is often very messy but usually full of life!

The church is currently served by five elders; Mark Harland, Vic Gledhill, Steve Kirk, Tim Summersby (Pheasey) and 'Chipper' Betts. They can be contacted through the WCC office in the first instance.

Music

music

At WCC we are privileged to have a number of very fine musicians and worship leaders. As well as playing at celebrations and other events a number of the musicians have written their own songs and recently produced an album; For His Kingdom. One of them writes, "Worship is an integral part of life for WCC. The songwriters have joined together to make this CD as a way of introducing new personal songs for WCC." The album can be bought on line at www.forhiskingdom.co.uk

Teaching

Our emphasis is on being 'doers' rather than 'hearers' only so our teaching is usually very practical. We use a number of in-house teachers as well as being privileged to host a number of experienced guest speakers from round the country and the world. In addition there are regular courses such as Alpha, First Steps, Freedom in Christ, Marriage and Positive Parenting.

Salt & Light

We are part of the Salt & Light worldwide family of churches. Our largest celebration of the year is when we join with other Salt & Light churches for a week long summer camp. In 2010 Transform will be held at Lenchwood near Evesham. www.saltlight.org/europe
Everyone gathers with the team for Good Morning Special, a healthy balance of worship, prayer, stories, and the low-down on what's happening for the rest of the day.
The youth and children head out to their groups at 11am, with the seminar tracks beginning shortly after. Great speakers stretch and challenge through preaching and interaction, and each day there are opportunities to pray together.

After lunch, get involved in whichever of the myriad activities takes your fancy. WCC are current holders of the women's tug o' war championships and runners up in the men's event.
Children and youth return to their groups from 7.15pm, before the 18+ Evening Celebration kicks off at 7.30pm, including a fantastic range of speakers and worship leaders.
Wind-down and chill in the café from 10pm or continue the worship and entertainment with late night Phatfish or Dweeb gigs. Wrap up the evening around the bonfire and get set for the next day ...!
