On 28th September 2008 at the WCC celebration we prayed for a group of people and sent them to form the new Pheasey Community Church. The following Sunday they were missing from WCC as they began meeting publicly in Pheasey under the leadership of Tim & Heidi.

This was not a sudden move. Tim & Heidi and others have been living in the Great Barr area of Walsall for some time. A cell formed on the Pheasey estate. The cell multiplied to form two new cells in 2007 and plans were made to form a separate congregation.

Pheasey Community Church remains part of the WCC church and charity. Tim has been one of the WCC elders for a few years and continues in that role. Tim is also starting to form his own local team in Pheasey and the new church is enthusiastically getting involved in the local community.

At WCC we see church planting as natural part of our growth and development. This is not necessarily something that is done by specialists. There is usually a low-key start with a few members forming a cell in a locality or around a project. We are committed to giving freedom and encouragement to every believer to make a difference.

Luke 10:1-9 has become very important to us in this process. We believe that church will follow if we "Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.'"(v9). Jesus tells us to put His Kingdom first and everything else will be taken care of.
