On Sunday, part-way through the Celebration, the children leave the main gathering and go into their groups. MiniZone, KidZone, GodZone and CellZone are led by a dedicated team of teachers and helpers overseen by Rachel and Mark. The children take part in a range of activities and can earn prizes and trips.

Kidz Klub takes place on Saturdays during term-time. Most of the children come from Coalpool and Blakenhall but increasingly they are travelling from all over Walsall. Kidz klub is based on the Metro Ministries model of New York. Children attend a club where important life values are imparted in a fun way. Every child is visited in their home each week and parents are involved in regular family events. For more details of this see our Coalpool Community Church page.

Children and youth cells spring up fairly spontaneously in the different age groups. Often a parent will lead a group for their child and their child's friends. As the children get older many of the cells are peer led. Sometimes they are based around a group of classmates in a particular local school. The emphasis is on living life differently because Jesus is at the centre.

Our enthusiastic youth group gets involved in many aspects of church life. Many of them help with Kidz Klub and other children's groups. A large team volunteers each year to help with 'The Works' week. Youth groups meet on Sunday mornings and during the week. The youth group in Coalpool meets on Sunday evenings once a month. Many of the youth attend the Salt & Light camp and go as a group to events around the midlands.

Every few weeks, Chipper and the team organise a big youth event that attracts young people from round the town and from Salt & Light churches further away. Relevant Biblical Teaching to encourage and equip young people for life at school on a Monday morning; passionate high voltage Praise; Fellowship with loads of other friends and a whole lot of Fun! The evening starts with pizza and drinks followed by a contemporary worship band and challenging speaker. The next Urban Spirit takes place on Saturday, 18 September 2010. Each year in the Spring Bank Holiday week we take a number of our youngsters to Off The Edge. This is an event organised by the Salt & Light family of churches for boys and girls in School Years 7 to 9. See http://www.saltlight.org/europe/events/edge. The five days combine inspirational worship times with a variety of outdoor pursuits. Our young people enjoy the opportunity to socialize with a larger group of peers from around the country.
