Our Vision

You are loved

Our vision is that the people of Walsall will know that God loves them and wants them to experience the hope of new life in Jesus and that our church know who they are in Christ, love one another and grow together in seeking his kingdom.

Empowered by His Holy Spirit we are sent to share the good news, bind up the brokenhearted, bring freedom to the oppressed, and revelation to the blind, to set the lonely in families, and declare the year of the Lord’s favour.

WCC is a church family seeking the kingdom through loving God and loving people

Family

We are a diverse community of God’s adopted children

We are an inclusive, diverse, multi-generational community who loves, cares, supports and encourages one another and where everyone is welcomed and accepted because God has welcomed and accepted us.

As we grow in our identity in Christ, and in the fruit of the Spirit and our gifting we contribute more to family life, in serving, ministry and leadership. In God’s family this growth to maturity comes as we receive love, encouragement, training and nurturing from meaningful relationships with spiritual parents, brothers and sisters.

Kingdom

We seek the rule and reign of Jesus in our lives, our church and our communities

We are a Jesus-centred church. Empowered by the spirit, we demonstrate through signs and wonders that Jesus is king and we proclaim his kingdom by meeting the needs of others, especially the poor and by working with others in true unity across different churches.

Coming into God’s kingdom involves water and Spirit baptism, receiving healing and restoration, growing in obedience, the fruit of the Spirit and our gifting.

We believe that God’s kingdom will be extended as we intercede for our town, region and world. As we share the good news people will encounter Jesus and every aspect of society can be transformed. God’s kingdom comes through speaking out against injustice, speaking truth and blessing and by partnering with other organisations.

Loving God

We believe in one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We want to grow in loving God with all our heart, soul and mind.

God is love and we love him because he first loved us. We want to see people grow in their understanding of God’s love for them and their love for him.
We love the Father by putting him first, as Jesus did. We love Jesus by obeying his commands and we love the Holy Spirit by choosing to let him dwell in us and shape us into mature disciples of Jesus.

God wants to encounter us daily in passionate worship. Our love and relationship with him grows as we learn what the Bible says He is like, spend time in prayer and dwell in His presence.

We express our love for God by sacrificially loving people: generously giving time, money, gifting and talents in the church and with our neighbours.

Loving people

We love our neighbours as we love ourselves

God the Father loves people and therefore we follow Jesus’ example of compassion in loving our neighbour, being led by the Spirit to meet people’s practical, emotional, and spiritual needs. We do this through intentional acts of kindness, praying for people, offering healing and deliverance, and sharing the gospel.

Loving people means being patient in all our relationships, quick to forgive, honouring people and serving others with unselfish humility and grace.
